I’ve always been fascinated how individuals somehow managed to forget all respect for the fellow mankind once they have be shielded by the anominity of the internet. They’ll hurl scornful marks at individuals with no comebacks, they know their words will hurt the persecuted with no chance of a meaningful rebuttle because they have no idea of what type of character their assailant is.
Incidents such as these really put in bitter taste in my mouth about internet forums and send me spiralling into a misanthropic mood. But the worst part is we seem to see more and more of these incidents in person, people utterly disrespecting other individuals without fear of reprisal for their ill actions.
Humanity....the word is a paradox in itself, humankind seems to be losing their humanity. Compassion and kinship seems to be a thing of the past, have we all adopted a “every man for himself” approach to life where we simply take what we want from a individual and move on our next victim to fullfill our remaining needs?
The irony is, I’ve always seen myself as an individual devoid of most morals, but I have come to understand how important simple groundings are in life in order to ensure quality of life for everyone. We now face a future where more individuals infringe and damage other persons’ quality of life. And it frightens me, knowing that there are an increasing amount of persons who’ll feel no guilt in harming the quality of my living.
Is this the beginning of the devolution of mankind?
